Alexander Pettefer
Originally from the UK, Alexander has over 20 years of commercial, financial, operational management and board governance experience across various sectors and geographies.
Alexander worked in the Netherlands, UK and across Europe before relocating to Africa in 2011. He spent the first part of his career in Europe working for global FTSE 100 and NASDAQ and NYSE listed companies, implementing highly successful commercial and financial strategies, before locating to Africa as CEO of a FTSE 100 company in Malawi.
In 2015 Alex was engaged to turnaround the South African division of a FTSE listed consumer electronics and telecommunications company. Post the delisting from the London stock exchange and sale of the business to an American firm, Alexander and Alexandra acquired the South African business, growing and developing Technologia Group and The Technology People into South Africa’s largest after-market consumer electronics business and South Africa’s leading mobile device leasing company.
In 2020 Alexander and Alexandra founded Macallan Walker.
Alexandra Buckle-Pettefer
Originally from Malawi, Alexandra and has over 10 years of operational and project management experience in the talent acquisition and technology sectors, having worked across Africa and the UK.
Alexandra started her career in London for an executive search firm, working with some of the world’s leading brands to source high calibre and internationally sought-after candidates globally, before relocating back to Africa.
In 2015 Alexandra joined a FTSE listed PLC in South Africa to support in the delivery of the business turnaround, focusing on expansion, crisis management, operational efficiency programs and leading the operational strategy of the business. After acquiring the South African business, Alexandra was instrumental in the success and growth of the company, which went on to become South Africa’s largest after-market consumer electronics business and leading mobile device leasing company, before founding Macallan Walker with Alexander in 2020.
Alexandra holds a BA with Honours Class I in Modern Languages and Linguistics from the University of Essex and a Master of Arts in Technical and Specialised Translation from the University of Westminster. She speaks English, Greek, French, Spanish, Chichewa and Mandarin.
